A rider lifts with a rearing white horse above a crowded herd moving across an open mountain plain.

Close looking

The horse rises almost vertically, its pale body catching the eye against the dark mass below. The herd presses across the lower field in overlapping directions, while the rider’s posture creates a momentary axis of command. The horizon gives the plain breadth; the bodies arrange routes through training, force, and negotiated movement. Direction emerges from the relation among rider, horse, and herd, and the open field becomes a space whose paths are continually arranged.

Artist’s account

Ghanizadeh connects the scene to migration, departure, refusal, evasion, shelter, invisibility, and the quiet act of leaving. The artist describes freedom as something negotiated within systems of control and states that the image was made by hand during active movement; the technical note says no AI manipulation was used.

Curatorial interpretation

Freedom arrives here as a relation. Command meets resistance, animal force meets human direction, and an individual departure remains inside collective pressure. The rising horse breaks the herd’s rhythm for a moment; the surrounding bodies hold the scene in place.
