About the Museum

The 6529 Network Museum

The 6529 Network Museum is a permanent collection of digital art held for the benefit of the 6529 Network and the public. It collects, preserves, studies, and shares art from the history of internet-native culture.

The Collection is held for long-term stewardship, research, interpretation, and public access. Accessioned works are intended to remain in the Collection.

Collection and acquisition

The permanent Collection contains works that have been formally accessioned by the Museum. Casey Reas and Magnum Photos are represented by completed gifts.

Keys and Gates is the first Meme Card-funded acquisition program. Its selected photographs are current acquisition work and remain separate from the permanent Collection while acquisition and accession proceed.

Scholarship and interpretation

The Museum publishes artist studies, collection essays, acquisition writing, object entries, and records that help visitors look closely and follow the relationships among works.

Anyone can visit the Museum online. The Collection, its artists, and its scholarship are available for public study and conversation.

The 6529 Network holds the Collection for the public commons. Museum governance, rights, provenance, and preservation records explain how that responsibility is carried out.

Institutional record

How the Museum works

The Museum records its decisions, custody, rights, and collecting work in public. These records support the art and the people who study it.

The governance

The Network uses TDH-weighted voting for major collecting and policy decisions. Adopted effects and proposals awaiting adoption remain separate in the public record.

The repository is the Museum's current canonical institutional record. Its rules, records, revisions, and history are version-controlled and open to inspect.

The next stage

The Museum's next stage will connect Network governance, the institutional record, and Ethereum execution through three linked parts.

An on-chain record of decisions

Approved Museum decisions will have a form that can be independently verified on Ethereum and in the institutional record.

Decision-constrained custody

The Museum Safe will follow valid Network decisions through technical custody controls.

Execution of approved decisions

Valid decisions will have a reliable path to an authorized Ethereum action, including an acquisition, transfer, or mint.

Collection care

The Museum is built to survive changes in websites, software, operators, signers, and service providers.

Long-term care joins Ethereum state to content-addressed records, preserved media and software, rights and provenance evidence, and migration paths.

Future stewards should be able to reconstruct the Collection, its decisions, and its institutional history from these records.
