Valid 2026, Sydney Australia In order to catch a train in Sydney in 2026 a traveller must agree to 24/7 CCTV surveillance and have a range of restrictions placed on their behaviour. This sign, tucked behind a steel pole, creates the context of safety with three 'caution' messages at the top. The implication is that surveillance is a necessary condition of safety. In the background, advertisement on a bus reminds us that even if we elect not to catch the train, our exit from government surveillance is being watched over by brands. In these conditions, we might have a valid ticket and no valid options.
