About this work
Vera Molnár and Martin Grasser’s Themes and Variations #210 is a square field of cobalt and warm white. A rough-edged blue mass presses into the upper-right corner; below it, five white T forms descend through a second blue field. At right, five narrow bars hang from a single horizontal line. A small F sits near the left edge, while a stippled blue panel compresses the lower-right corner. The letters remain readable as letters, then become blocks, bars, and texture. This is one unique output in a fixed edition of 500. The PNG records a dated rendering; the live Art Blocks generator supplies the work’s current browser display.

The project’s F bold trait identifies the source letter assigned to this token. In the rendering, the F appears as a small mark at the left edge while the T forms repeat below; elsewhere, letters become bars, blocks, and texture. A six-by-six field holds repeated forms against open areas and irregular edges, making Molnár’s rule-based method visible at the scale of one output.
The official record identifies a 6x6 grid, Letters:, palette b #, and Vera Letter:. It also identifies the work as non-static and provides a live generator. The Museum’s 2,400 × 2,400 PNG is a dated rendering retrieved on 23 August 2026. The browser renderer is the executable presentation, while the token hash and on-chain script determine the output shown by that renderer.

Themes and Variations #210, 2023
In #210, cobalt blue and warm white exchange the square’s ground and figure. A heavy blue field occupies the upper right, its edge breaking into small steps at the margins; another blue mass fills much of the lower left. Between them, pale fields open and close like panels in a compact diagram.
The lower-left field carries a descending group of white T forms. The letter stays readable while becoming a repeated unit, a measured rhythm rather than a word. A small F at the left edge is equally a glyph and a piece of geometry. Elsewhere, a narrow horizontal rule supports vertical lines, and a dense rectangular panel compresses the image into texture. The eye moves among open field, block, letter, line, and mark.
That movement is the work’s subject. The project’s F bold trait names a source condition; the rendered image distributes it across different scales and degrees of legibility. A letter can become a mass, a repeated mark can approach notation, and a grid can loosen into an irregular edge. Molnár’s long interest in rule and deviation remains visible even as the work is generated through a live browser system.
The work is one unique output in a fixed edition of 500. Its exact identity is eip155:; its token hash is 0xd0a3be9a. Published traits are Grid:, Letters:, Vera Letter:, and palette b #.
The official record marks the work is_ and exposes a live generator. The 2,400 × 2,400 PNG used here is a dated documentation manifestation, retrieved 23 August 2026; the live renderer and its on-chain script remain part of the work’s constitution.
