Educational use is permitted within the conditions recorded by the Museum. Other reuse may still need permission.
Museum practice
These readings describe how the Museum normally presents, studies, publishes, and cares for a lawfully acquired work. The exact rights record, artist agreements, and applicable law continue to govern each object.

Educational exhibition and interpretation may proceed within the institution's stated permission. The detailed record should identify the audience, setting, and any conditions.

Within the stated purpose
An educational collection page or teaching presentation may proceed within the stated permission. Public download and unrelated republication remain separate questions.
- Publish in print
Within the stated purpose
Educational and scholarly reproduction may proceed within the stated permission. Commercial-press, cover, and decorative uses receive separate review.
- Make preservation copies
Contextual museum use
Educational permission may leave preservation unaddressed. The Museum may still rely on collection-care terms, applicable law, or a separate conservation permission.
- Share an adaptation

A public remix or adaptation needs express coverage in the educational permission or another legal basis.
- Make commercial use

Advertising, merchandise, image licensing, and other commercial exploitation need permission or another legal basis.
What the Museum can do
- Tell educators that educational use is permitted, while providing the specific conditions and scope in the detailed object record.
Conditions
- Apply the statement only when the Museum owns the relevant right or has explicit authority from the rights holder.
What remains outside the term
- The statement is not a Creative Commons license and does not by itself define every educational use, adaptation, distribution, or commercial boundary.
