IKERTJE (ikertje)

IKERTJE’s public biography describes a designer who has worked with photography for more than twenty years. The practice spans portrait, street, architectural, and minimalist photography, with attention to framing, colour, and overlooked detail. Public display variants include ikertje, IKERTJE, and IKΞRTJΞ.

In Residual Barrier, the artist’s interest in architecture and overlooked surfaces becomes a close study of weathered concrete, construction seams, graffiti, and a dark coping line beneath a pale sky. The submission places the photograph in Berlin in 2011 and describes a barrier whose practical function has weakened while its memory continues to shape behaviour. The work’s restraint—one wall, one horizontal line, layers of marks—lets residue become the subject.
